Amy N. Tirre’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, bankruptcy (creditor), business debt collection, and civil litigation. She has successfully represented clients in a wide range of legal matters, including breach of contract, business tort, real estate, foreclosure, loan workouts, negotiations, and personal injury.
Ms. Tirre also serves as local counsel or associate counsel for out-of-state attorneys and law firms with matters pending in federal, bankruptcy or state court in Nevada.
Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Tirre worked with the second-largest firm in Nevada as well as with a well-known Reno civil trial lawyer, who became a state court judge, which gave her broad experience with all types of civil litigation cases and jury trials. Ms. Tirre started her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Miriam Shearing with the Nevada Supreme Court.
Ms. Tirre received her Juris Doctor from the University of California at Davis School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Tirre was a Rotary Scholar and studied at the University of Heidelberg in Germany.
Ms. Tirre is active as a leader and a member of many law-related and community organizations. She has served as president of the Northern Nevada Bankruptcy Bar Association and chairperson of the State Bar of Nevada’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. Ms. Tirre was appointed to the Board of Directors for the UC Davis Law School Alumni Association and as a barrister in the American Inns of Court, Bruce R. Thompson Chapter. She previously served as president of the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association.
From 2010 through 2024, Ms. Tirre has been recognized each year as a “Super Lawyer” in business bankruptcy in the regional Mountain States, which is a peer-review distinction reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in his or her practice area. From 2016 through 2024, Nevada Business Magazine has honored Ms. Tirre as one of the “Legal Elite” in Northern Nevada. In 2007, Ms. Tirre was recognized as one of Northern Nevada’s “20 Under 40” accomplished young business professionals by the Reno-Gazette Journal and a “Woman of Achievement” by the Nevada Women’s Fund.
Ms. Tirre served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada and as a mentor in the ASCENT (All Students College Educated in Nevada Today) program created by the University of Nevada, Reno. She mentored a young woman from a disadvantaged background attending an at-risk high school, who went on to graduate with a business degree from the University of Nevada – Reno and who recently became a homeowner.
